International Carneval Pancevo

Pancevo is a town only 16 km from Belgrade The International Carnival in Pancevo is the first and most important contemporary international carnival in Serbia, a tourist attraction with 2,000 participants from around 15 countries, visited by over 100,000 visitors. It represents different cultures and carnival traditions from all over the world, an integral part of which is international and regional cooperation. It has been organized by the "Friends of Pancevo" association since 2003, and is under the auspices of the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications of the Republic of Serbia, the Provincial Secretariat for Economy and Tourism of AP Vojvodina and the City of Pancevo. It is located on the carnival map of the world, as an important European manifestation that is the flagship of the carnival in Serbia and the first member of the Federation of European Carnival Cities (FECC) from Serbia, since 2004. This is the largest street event in Serbia that is free for visitors. Carnival festivities in Pancevo traditionally begin with the mayor handing over the keys to the city into the hands of the Carnival Maestro, which symbolically signifies that on those days the city is ruled by carnivalists, good mood and friendship. The culmination of the event is a large International Carnival parade that passes through the city center with over 2,000 participants from 15 countries, ending with fireworks. The programs are held at more than 10 locations in the city and last until the morning hours.

Internacionalni karneval u Pančevu je prvi i najznačajniji savremeni međunarodni karneval u Srbiji, turistička atrakcija sa 2000 učesnika iz oko 15 zemalja, koju poseti preko 100.000 posetilaca. Predstavlja različite kulture i karnevalske tradicije iz celog sveta, čiji je sastavni deo međunarodna i regionalna saradnja. Održava se u organizaciji udruženja ''Prijatelji Pančeva'' od 2003. godine, i pod pokroviteljstvom je Ministarstva trgovine, turizma i telekomunikacija Republike Srbije, Pokrajinskog sekretarijata za privredu i turizam AP Vojvodine i Grada Pančeva. Nalazi se na karnevalskoj mapi sveta, kao značajna evropska manifestacija koja je perjanica karnevala u Srbiji i prvi član Federacije Evropskih karnevalskih gradova (FECC) iz Srbije, od 2004.godine. Ovo je najveća ulična manifestacija u Srbiji koja je besplatna za posetioce. Karnevalske svečanosti u Pančevu, tradicionalno započinju predajom ključeva grada gradonačelnika u ruke Maestra karnevala, što simbolično označava da tih dana gradom vladaju karnevalisti, dobro raspoloženje i prijateljstvo. Kulminacija događaja je velika Međunarodna karnevalska povorka koja prolazi kroz centar grada sa preko 2.000 učesnika iz 15 zemalja, koja se završava vatrometom. Programi se održavaju na više od 10 lokacija u gradu i traju do jutarnjih časova.
